Inspired by the enduring charism of Venerable Nano Nagle, we are a vibrant global association of Presentation Sisters and Presentation People, united by a shared commitment to the universal value of human rights. With hearts ignited by hope and a passion for justice, we work to amplify the voices of advocates and defenders worldwide. Together, we are building a dynamic community dedicated to creating a world where justice, dignity, and compassion thrive.
Venerable Nano Nagle
Honoria "Nano" Nagle (1718–1786) was a trailblazer of her time - a compassionate and visionary woman who dedicated her life to uplifting the poor and marginalized in Ireland. Whether through education, providing food, or offering medical care, Nano was a beacon of hope for those in need. Her remarkable efforts led to the founding of a religious order, now known as the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM).Fast forward to today, and Nano’s legacy lives on! Thousands of Sisters and Presentation People around the world continue her mission, championing compassion, justice, and transformation in communities everywhere.

UNITED NATIONS
The IPA sits on various NGO Committees and working groups at the United Nations based in New York, including those focused on trafficking in persons, the status of women, social development, migration, financing for development, religious affairs at the UN, justice for religious groups, and the Working Group on Girls. Our UN Advocacy Focus for 2024-2026 centers on the elimination of violence against women & children. We work to influence policies & decisions that support those in need globally, with a foundation rooted in our efforts to gather & report on the lived experiences of the poor & marginalised at the grassroots level.
